SS1: Evans creates an upset!

29/03/2019

The first stage of the 2019 CORSICA linea – Tour de Corse sprang its fair share of surprises starting with Elfyn Evans` (Ford Fiesta WRC) fastest time in front of the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRCs of Thierry Neuville and Dani Sordo. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C3 WRC) lost a few seconds due to a spin, but his fellow-countryman Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) fared much worse as he damaged his suspension after only nine kilometres while Kris Meeke (Toyota Yaris WRC) dropped over 50 seconds due to a puncture. Éric Camilli (VW Polo GTI R5) set the best time in WRC-2 in front of Yoann Bonato (Citroën C3 R5).
