Ogier-Ingrassia, five in a row!


Five-time defending World Champions, Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia have started the 2018 WRC season with a victory in Monte-Carlo, the fifth consecutive win on Alpine roads for the French duo.

1: SS1 winner, Sébastien Ogier made the perfect start and took the lead of the 86th Rally Monte-Carlo. With a lot of control on his home soil, Ogier gave no chance to his opponents, never leaving his throne throughout all the first event of the season.

2: For his first time with the Toyota Yaris WRC, Ott Tänak seizes a hopeful second place. Only driver less than one minute behind Sébastien Ogier (+58.3), the Estonian was very constant and secured his first stage wins under the banner of the Japanese Team. By climbing on the last spot of the podium, Jari-Matti Latvala offers Toyota an event podium double.

5: Architect of a magnificent come-back after losing more than 4 minutes in SS1, Thierry Neuville took the fifth place of the Rally Monte-Carlo. 9th after the first leg of the event, the Belgium driver, vice-world champion 2017, won four of the last five stages to finally put his Hyundai i20 WRC in the Top 5.

6: By overcoming Ott Tänak and Jari-Matti Latvala’s Toyotas after the 17 stages of the event, Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia win their sixth Rally Monte-Carlo. After a first victory in 2009, the French crew have won the last five Alpine events.

22: In minutes, the advantage collected by Jan Kopecký on his runner-up after the 17 stages of the rally. Winner of the event in WRC 2 thanks to a perfect performance, the Czech driver outpaces the Italian Eddie Sciessere (+22:47.7) and the Finnish Teemu Suninen (33:31.1). Initially at the second place, 15 minutes behind Kopecký, Guillaume de Mevius was penalized by the stewards and finally replaced at the fourth place more than 30 minutes away.
