Date: Friday 7th April
Section: 2
Special Stage: SS4 Plage du Liamone – Sarrola-Carcopino 2 (29.12 km)
Weather: Sunny and hot
Road Conditions: Dry road with some gravel due to the first loop.
1. OGIER / INGRASSIA – FORD FIESTA WRC
Let’s wait and see where we are tonight. At least we should be in second so it’s not bad. We’ve improved the car today and it’s getting better and better. We will change the setup a little.

10. LATVALA / ANTTILA – TOYOTA YARIS WRC
It’s been hard but it’s also been nice. The pace is not where I expected it to be.

6. SORDO / MARTI – HYUNDAI I20 COUPE WRC
I don’t know, it was a difficult day. I’m happy with myself, I’m driving OK but the car is not good, the car is not perfect. It’s OK, we will try to have fun with this car a bit.

5. NEUVILLE / GILSOUL – HYUNDAI I20 COUPE WRC
I’m running for my life – I feel like I’m flying sometimes. I’m on the edge, on the limit sometimes and we need to calm down a bit.

7. MEEKE / NAGLE – CITROEN C3 WRC
Two top stages this afternoon, quite a bit of dirt on the road. I got a good rhythm but you are always wary of Seb. He never gives up and will still come fighting but I’m happy with my pace. I’ve enjoyed myself out there today, we’ll go back to Bastia and have a good nights sleep. We will see how the rest of the weekend pans out.

8. BREEN / MARTIN – CITROEN C3 WRC
We had a litle problem with the tyres after the first one. I had to change to an older package to get around a fault with one of the tyres.

3. EVANS / BARRITT – FORD FIESTA WRC
Still the same. The hydraulics issues are affecting the gear change and centre diff.

4. PADDON / KENNARD – HYUNDAI I20 COUPE WRC
For sure I can do a better job but the gap to the front is bigger than I’d like. It’s not just a Hyundai thing.

9. LEFEBVRE / MOREAU – CITROEN C3 WRC
It was better, my pace notes were correct but sometimes I push a little too much and lose time. It’s been a difficult day.

32. MIKKELSEN / JAEGER-SYNNEVAAG – SKODA FABIA R5
I had a spin on this one on a hairpin right. I ran my setup a little different but that is the only negative point that it’s easy to spin in the hairpin. Before the rally I created this setup. I just have to take care of it in hairpins, I was just a little too aggressive.

33. KOPECKY / DRESLER – SKODA FABIA R5
The biggest problem was the power steering, we lost it on the first page. We picked up a puncture, I don’t know where. We are here which is important and try to do some good times tomorrow.

34. SUNINEN / MARKKULA – FORD FIESTA R5
Everything is good. We were overheating the brakes toward the end of the stage.

35. BERGKVIST / SJOBERG – CITROEN DS3 R5
Like I said before, a learning curve. We made some changes to the car and it was the right way. We are still in the race and we are improving the car so that’s good.

38. VEIBY / SKJAERMOEN – SKODA FABIA R5
Even on the last one I improved a lot. We’ve been improving all day. Overall I’m happy with what we have done and we’ll keep it on tomorrow.

40. LOUBET / LANDAIS – FORD FIESTA R5
That was a good stage, not a bad time and continue like this. We hit a bridge with the rear wheel but it’s OK.

41. TEMPESTINI / BERNACCHINI – CITROEN DS3 R5
It was a good day, we learn something and now we learn what is good on tarmac. We will work to be faster tomorrow and the day after. I’m happy with this opportunity and we’ll use it.

43. KOCI / KOSTKA – SKODA FABIA R5
It was not easy for sure.

44. ROSSEL / FULCRAND – CITROEN DS3 R5
It has been a little frustrating with the times but we’ll make some changes and hope for a better day tomorrow.

21. DUMAS / CHIAPPE – PORSCHE 997 GT3 RS 4.0
It was hard today. I don’t know if it comes from the car or the heat, but I suffered. Tomorrow is even longer so it might be more difficult.

84. SARRAZIN / RENUCCI – HYUNDAI I20 R5
It has been a wonderful day to have as a come-back. The fight with Mikkelsen is wonderful.

85. MANZAGOL / PATRONE – FORD FIESTA R5
We’re still learning. I still haven’t found the right setup. I’m happy and done with that day.

61. ASTIER / VAUCLARE – PEUGEOT 208 R2
Both loops were nice. A great day. My priority has been to avoid any tricky parts.
