First spins on the Tour de Corse with the Shakedown


The Che Guevara Energy Drink Tour de Corse start was launched this Thursday 6th April with the Shakedown. Throughout a beautiful sunny morning, all the crews completed some runs and made the last technical adjustments.

While the real competition will be launched tomorrow in the morning with the first stage Pietrosella – Albitrecci, occasion was given to the drivers, in the morning of Thurday 6th April, to go through some spins under race conditions. A windfall when we know the variations and the constant changes of pace on the Corsican roads.

While every drivers of the WRC classifications completed at least three runs on the 5,40km sections dedicated to the Shakedown organized near the City of Bastia, Sébastien Ogier was the quickest one in 3:50.7. The four-time in a row World Champion outpaced Hayden Paddon and Kris Meeke with less than a second ahead.

In the French clan, let’s underline the performance of Éric Camilli and his Ford Fiesta R5, second of the WRC2 contingent and 13th overall, right behind the last Word Rally Car of Juho Hanninen. Stéphane Lefebvre, completed the Shakedown with the ninth time with his sixth run. The struggle is launched and the next meeting for the drivers is tomorrow with the first leg, Friday 7th April, which will features four special stages.
