First chance for Sébastien Ogier!


The Dayinsure Wales Rally GB (26-29 October), penultimate round of a highly contested 2017 World Rally Championship, will offer the duo Ogier-Ingrassia a first occasion to seize the title.

1: As the number of cars that M-Sport will have to secure on the finish line of the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB to score the four remaining points necessary for the Manufacturers’ title. The British team is almost certain to grab on its home soil its first title since 2007, and could even make it a double if Sébastien Ogier were to win its fifth World Championship.

2: After two consecutive blank sheets, in Germany and Spain, Thierry Neuville fell down from the first place in the overall standings to the third, 38 units behind the Frenchman whereas they were ex-aequo before those events. If mathematically speaking the Belgian and Ott Tänak are still in the race (2nd 37 points behind), Sébastien Ogier only needs to outpace his runner-ups by 31 points before the last round in Australia, which means that a success in Britain would automatically crown him.

4: As the number of consecutive successes held by Sébastien Ogier on the British roads, unbeatable since 2013. If he keeps going this year, the Frenchman will not only win his fifth World Champion title in a row but will also be the most successful rallyman in Britain (5) in front of Sébastien Ogier and Hannu Mikkola!

17: In hours, the length of Saturday that looks like a marathon during which engines and minds will be thoroughly tested. After a double loop in the special stages Dyfi and Gartheiniog, the day will end with two special stages that are back in the itinerary and which will be run by night (Dyfnant and Aberhirnant).

79: As the number of entrants in the 2017 Dayinsure Wales Rally GB, the biggest success since the event was relocated in Northern Wales in 2013. All in all, 17 World Rally Cars will start the 12th round of the World Rally Championship, a new record in the season. Besides, 23 crews will struggle in WRC2 where all the best drivers of the category will be eager to shine on the European ground.
