Sébastien Ogier with M-Sport in 2017!

The Frenchman, four-time World Champion and Rallye Jeunes FFSA’s winner in 2005, will take part in the WRC 2017 driving a Ford.

Free agents before the retirement of Volkswagen Motorsport Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia signed a one-year contract with the British Manufacturer M-Sport. Therefore the French pair will discover a third team after Citroën Racing and VW.

With 37 victories and 56 podiums since his beginning in WRC in 2008, the best rally driver in the world had many opportunities. After he declined an offer from Toyota and following many negotiations, the Gapençais chose the most viable solution favoring Ford.

The tests made with the new Ecoboost-powered Fiesta last month in Wales have convinced the Frenchman to accept the offer from the British manufacturer. Only 39 days until the beginning of the 2017 season in Monte-Carlo, Ogier becomes the leader of the team led by Malcolm Wilson and will be the teammate of the Estonian rising-star Ott Tänak.

“There will be a lot of new things this season, but I am definitely looking forward to it. We have a new generation of world rally cars, and a new team; it’s certainly an exciting time,” said Ogier after the announcement.
